| Spikes01k04-16-07, 01:22 PM | Has anyone ever notice that the item "Blindfold of True Darkness" pg75 of the MIC never says you have to were the blind fold over the eyes. So if you simply put it some where else on the face all you need to do to activate it is to close your eyes. I could be wrong, but please correct me if I am wrong. |
| RobbyPants04-16-07, 01:25 PM | It might be covered in a sort of common sense ruling. |
| Spikes01k04-16-07, 01:32 PM | It might be covered in a sort of common sense ruling. Try, but you could also just change it in its creation so you have eye holes like the ninja turtles had. |
| Zuractai04-16-07, 01:54 PM | As a DM I would say it has to be worn over the eyes. There is a reason it is not called the Headband of True Darkness. That is obviously how it was intended. it would be like saying you don't need to wear goggles over your eyes for them to work. |
| ninja104-16-07, 02:06 PM | I thought its description mentioned something about normal vision not working through it? (perhaps that was the original Arms & Equipment description?). If this is true, then I'd say that the intent was for it to be worn as a blindfold.... |
| tarkin04-16-07, 03:18 PM | The Blindfold of True Darkness is a slotted item. As such, it pretty much has to cover the eyes. |
| Spikes01k04-16-07, 03:54 PM | OOOk, I get you guys. I was just poiting out that the way it was written it seemed like you could were it like a bandit mask and just close your eyes when you needed to use blindsense. That way you wouldn't be using your eyes. tarkin It is slotted item but again, it is a face item, technically you can wear it anywhere on the face sense it didn't specifically state that it had to be. |
| Platstud04-16-07, 04:01 PM | Actually, there is nothing wrong with wearing it on your forehead. My character wears his shirt tied around his left arm, his goggles on the back of his head and holds the pointy end of the sword. Nothing in the rules says I can't. I also prefer my breastplate backward, my gloves on the wrong hands and my handy haversack hanging from my nuts. This is all perfectly legitimate. /sarcasm |
| IonizedChicken04-16-07, 05:06 PM | Well, there is really nothing wrong with wearing it on your forehead. That doesn't mean you can see while wearing it, of course. No, the rules strictly prohibit that -- you cannot use vision in any way while wearing the blindfold. |

| IonizedChicken04-17-07, 09:47 AM | It doesn't say you need to not see to gain the benefit. It just says you can't see while wearing it. That's it. You just can't, whether your eyes are closed or not, covered or not, or whatever. |
