| RavenCorvus03-30-07, 06:39 PM | Can you add blueshine to a weapon? I really don't see why not weapons are just as important as armor. |
| DarkRhystar03-30-07, 08:41 PM | For those who are not familiar with Blueshine, it is a +1 armor special ability from Magic of Faerun (page 136) that makes armor immune to rust, acid, and grants a +5 bonus to hide checks. As written, you cannot apply it to weapons however, a house rule could be made along the lines of: Blueshine: This quality can be applied only to metal weapons, which gain a blue-black color when so treated. The weapon never tarnishes and is immune to acid and rust attacks. The user also gains a +5 circumstance bonus on Sleight of Hand checks when attempting to conceal the weapon. Moderate transmutation; CL 12th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, rust ray; Price: +1 bonus. |

| Potato Weasel03-30-07, 10:52 PM | And both are in the shiny new item compendium. They're also cheaper (set price, not a +1 bonus) |
| the_dark_one_of_twilight04-01-07, 12:07 AM | well think of it as the same thing effect wise then just use the dmg for conversions such as how much of this you actually need to make for example if the blueshine is made in jugs that are supposed to cover platemail in blue shine then how many daggers could you coat with it,how many lonswords,etc... i personally think you should drop the + to hide all together that should make it cheaper as it is losing the +5 to a hide check the coloration i think wouldnt matter as you could state the recipe has an additional ingredient added to give it a coloration (as all potions dont have to look identical as long as the effect is the same, and it doesnt have any thing like you see what appear to be ghostly skulls floating in the potion of healing, instead you could have it look black instead of red or whatever color it is normally) |
| natural_selection04-01-07, 10:26 AM | Following the Magic Item Compendium blueshine has only +2 Hide bonus. As its the newer supplement it overrules any previous sources. |
| RavenCorvus04-02-07, 09:46 PM | why do you get a +2 to hide anyway escape artist would make more sense in a way |
