Bocoobs blessed book [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-14-06, 03:23 PM in the DMG it says that Bocoobs blessed book eliminates the 25 gp per page cost for writing spells in the book, but in the magic section of the PHB it says the cost to write spells in books is 100 gp per page.

which one is right? and if it's the PHB then how does the gp thing on Bocoobs book work?

03-14-06, 03:39 PM As a general principle, the rule should be considered more correct than a magic-item description that references it.

In this case, the SRD reads that the full, 100 gp cost of transcription is waived.

"A wizard can fill the 1,000 pages of a blessed book with spells without paying the 100 gp per page material cost."

I would use that.

03-14-06, 11:16 PM Which, btw, means that after only 125 pages worth of spells, you've paid for your magical item with scribing fees :D You probably knew that already, but it does merit mention.

03-14-06, 11:46 PM ANd as an added bonus, if your a geometer, you can fill the book with 1000 spells, saving yourself a lot of dough doing so.
