I have a really quick question which is:

Thunderstones, Alchemist Fires, etc, etc, are they considered weapons which follow into the Grenade/Bomb "Family", as I was originally planning for my character to focus in that area could I use with the feat Weapon Focus (Bomb/Grenade) would work?

Thank you

No, they are not considered weapons in the normal sense as longswords are. You cannot become proficient with them, but any character can use them Alchemist's Fire and Acid and similar things as splash weapons (rules for those are in the Combat Chapter of the PHB).

The existance of the Grenadier feat (PHBII) seems to indicate that Alchemical weapons do not qualify for 'weapon-specific' feats like Weapon Focus, Weapon Specialization, Improved Critical, etc.

Speaking of which, just take Grenadier. It provides bonuses to hit and damage.

There isa spell available t Wizards called 'Exploding runes'. You write a rune on a stone and then enchant it so that when you read the rune it explodes doing 6d6 splash damage to a 20ft. area. This might be considered a 'grenade'.

And yes, the Grenadier is the better choice.

Take Grenadier and other feats that aren't weapon-specific, so that you can increase your abilities with them in other ways. In addition, focus your skills, noncombat feats, and stats around being able to produce these as cheaply and easily as possible, so then you can get more for your money. Learning to be good at dodging and increasing your reflex save (for those tricky splash damage incidents) is a good plan, as well as taking a few levels of a class or two to get Improved Evasion, to lower the chance of hurting yourself with your weapons.
