I'm looking for an item that gives a bonus to all stats. I remember reading about it, but now I can't find the reference for it. I seem to remember it was something like a belt/girdle of glory perhaps?

Anyone else seen what I'm thinking of?

Belt of Magnificence, I believe, from Miniature's Handbook

There is also a spell in PHB2, its a 4th level cleric spell, and sor/wiz 4. It gives a +4 to all stats, as an enhancement. If you made it into an item, it would be 4*7*2000=56000GP. Not bad considering all of them separatly would be 96000GP. 58% off! yay! sale time!

In this case we have a clear formula to follow; bonus2*1,000. Use that, and not the continuous item pricing method, as a first approximation.

Creating an item with separate +4 enhancements to each ability would total at 16,000 + 16,000*1½*5 = 136,000 (even neglecting body-slot affinity issues). 56k is well underpriced. 96k might be a reasonable price (and a lot of DMs would charge you every penny, even including body-slot issues which would add another 32 or 40k to the price).

You forget the "multiple similar abilities" modifier. That would make it...

16,000 + 16,000*.75*1.5 + 16,000*.5*1.5*4 = 82,000

without body slot issues, which I don't think would apply here if you made it a cloak or robe (transformation and multiple abilities, respectively). This sounds like an appropriate price to me.

Sword & Fist priced the headband of perfect excellence +6 at 180,000 gp. Strength, Dexterity, and Wisdom.

Somewhat less magnificient than all six stats.

No. Stop. You don't get to pick the pricing method that gives you the cheapest price. The spell level method is the last resort. It's the method you use when no other existing method applies, and it's only a guideline, often generating a price that's too low for the effect being granted.

If you like the spell so much, get a staff.

An item that enhances multiple abilites does not have multiple similar powers, but multiple unrelated powers. The second (and all subsequent) powers cost 1½ times the book price. They do not get a sliding discount. You certainly do not apply both the similar-power discount and the unrelated-power surcharge.

As for the body-slot business, "Transformation" would mean shapechanging type effects or effects which grant new abilities. A headband or helmet is appropriate for mental ability enhancement but not physical; belts for physical improvement but not mental. As for robes I'm quite happy to go along with the suggestion that it's an appropriate bodyslot for all six (unless someone can show otherwise).

Somewhat less magnificient than all six stats.Pricing rules have changed a bit since 3.0; for one thing, the surcharge for unrelated powers has come down from 2* to 1½*. The 180k price depends on the old, double-cost factor (36+72+72 = 180). The price under 3.5 rules is 144k.

Or compare them to similar items which would bring you back to the Belt of Magnificence whihc is 25,000 for a +2, 100,000 for a +4, or 200,000 for a +6 to all stats.
