Garath 03-22-05, 07:58 PM	Does anyone know what kind of AC bonus is provided by Bracers of Armor? I'm guessing its either "deflection" or "unnamed" but I can't tell from the DMG item description. Thanks.

Garath 03-22-05, 08:10 PM	Okay. But bracers provide a "force" effect, rather than a phyical protection. So do they improve AC vs Touch, even though it is an "armor" bonus?
Bulabase 03-22-05, 08:16 PM	The spell Mage Armor provides an armor bonus that applies to incorporeal touch attacks in addition to what a normal armour bonus does. It does not specifically state that Bracers of Armor also do this, so any decision to in favor of this would have to be a house rule.
Edymnion 03-22-05, 08:35 PM	It provides an Armor Bonus to AC. This means it does not stack with normal armor worn (which is important). It is also a force effect, and protects against incoporeal attacks as well, which normally bypass armor bonuses. As an Armor bonus though, it still does not apply to Touch attacks in general.
Garath 03-23-05, 11:55 AM	Okay, thanks, that helps a lot. I guess that means that for a given AC bonus, Rings of Protection are better than Bracers of Armor, since "deflection" bonuses work against touch also (but of course they are more expensive).
