| Gadren08-07-07, 02:27 PM | Do you think it would negatively affect game balance if I allowed the creation of bracers that worked on the same mechanic as Bracers of Archery (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#bracersofArcheryGreate r) for different types of weapons? For example, Bracers of Fencing (bonus on rapiers instead of bows) or Bracers of Crossbow Mastery, etc. |
| tarkin08-07-07, 02:31 PM | It seems to take away something from archery, making it less special. At the very least I would do things like require it to only work if you are using Weapon Finesse - the concept seems to me to be precision rather than strength. |
| primemover00308-07-07, 04:30 PM | Considering the bracer slot is mainly for any combat related purpose I don't see why not. They should provide a specific weapon proficiency for a character who couldn't normally use that weapon and then provide the competence bonuses if the wearer already has the proficiency, using the same mechanics as the BoA, greater and lesser. |

| wonlee7608-08-07, 10:28 AM | I would allow it but from a balance perspective, I would only allow the bonuses to apply to 1 weapon only. This is to avoid TWF from abusing the bonuses to hit and damage for both weapons where Bracers of Archery would never have to worry about such a restriction since a bow is a 2 handed weapon. |
