I heard somewhere that you could put armor mods like Light Fortification onto Braces of Armor. Is this true, and if so, where can I find the rule?

For instance, if I was a cleric, I could get put the Sacred mod (+2 to turning checks) on my armor, shield, bracers and dastanas (yeah, dastanas don't take up bracer slots! :) ) for a +8 to my turning check.

It is not a hard and fast rule, just something that a lot of people allow.

I would certainly allow it, it seems blatantly fair to me.

Ask your DM.

Make sure that that stacks with itself. I don't have the book that that special ability comes from, but it seems like it would either be a "divine" or "competence" bonus. Either way, it will not stack with itself (Most named bonuses do not stack).

Also, a Phylactery of Turning is very good for a turn-happy cleric. You may want to look into getting one of those instead.

That doesn't sound right.
How do Dastanas not take up bracer slots. A Dastana is worn in the same place a bracer would be.

I believe it is a sidebar in the Arms and Equipment Guide. It allows up to +13 enhancement, +8 max armor enhancement and +5 special ability enhancement.

Yup, but only a Monk should EVER even look at Bracers of Armor, mechanically speaking. Padded Armor gives you all the same benefits, on top of a free +1 to AC, for a measly 5% ASF. Big whoop, 5%, its no worse than saying you don't want to go into melee combat because you might roll a natural 1.

And for an insanely less amount, you could get a mithril shirt and a mithril buckler for only 10% ASF, thats an instant +5 to your AC right off the bat. And just compare the prices for a +2 Mithril Shirt and a +1 Mithril Buckler to the price for a set of +8 Bracers of Armor.

If you can wear armor of any kind without losing class abilities, you should.
Only Monks and Duelists and the like should ever even think about BoA.
