Hi all,
We have had a situation in last week's game that we failed to find rules for, and I'd like to know if you know where we could find those rules, and if they don't exist, how you would deal with it.

Some demon appears in the night, grapples a wounded NPC and starts warping into the ethereal plane. I have the time to do an action before they change plane so I grab the demon and try to break the grapple between him and the NPC. How does that translate in combat rules? How would you deal with it?

Thank you all in advance

You would use the Aid Another action to give the grappled person a +2 on their grapple check to break free.

Or you could join the grapple and try to go with them.

You would have to enter the grapple and pin the demon to end its grapple on the fellow. Or...you would have to do the above...aid another for a +2 grapple check or simply join the grapple and go along for the ride (if the spell effect allows you to join).

BTW...how would he be able to warp away anyway? Isn't that a standard action?

Do demons have weight limits to what they can take along?
