Ok, here's a new one for you.

I am a druid Wildshaper and I need to know something about breath weapon uses. Say I use my breath weapon as a dragon, then have to wait, lets say 3 rounds to use it again, but I use my next turn to wildshape into something different, but something that has a breath weapon, like a cryohydra, do I still wait 2 more rounds or can I go ahead and use that one?

Please Help! Thanks

Let's start with these points:

[1] You can't use Wild Shape to turn into a dragon or hydra; you're limited to animals (and, at higher levels), plants, and elementals.
[2] Even if you did, you wouldn't be able to use the dragon's breath weapon (see the polymorph spell description--or alternate form errata, if you want to be 100% official).

Well, good points but, I am a lvl 30 character, in Master of Many Forms and having taken the Magical Beast Wildshape, so yes I can. Also a Breath Weapon is a supernatural ability, which I gain as per the feats "Dragon Wildshape" and "Magical Beast Wildshape."

My question still stands, but thanks for the response.

First off, details are important, try listing them up front in the future.

Second, you're level 30...who cares. I would think there would be more efficient ways to kill your opponents then worrying about the reset timer on breath weapons.

Third, since the breath weapon times seem to be specific to the creature using them, I'd say if you switched forms, you could use the breath weapon of the new form regardless of any timers on other forms.

Forth, you're level 30...seriously, there's got to be better things you could be doing with your time.

Just a druid with Dragon Wildshape (you can take it non-epic, level 12 earliest, Draconomicon, gains supernatural and extraordinary).

I believe that you will be able to use your new breath weapon right away, but it's pretty easy to argue either way. My reason? If you shapeshift into a form with no wait on the breath weapon, do you have to wait? I think not.

I dunno, i can see a use for it, for instance killing the army of Kobolds as a way to gain the army of orcs, but not wanting to wait if the army of orcs thinks that they can kill you fast before you get to breathe again... :)

Yes it would work instantly, since you are shifting form, you gain the new form... Nothing carries over from the old one except what is specifically named.

The limitations are based on the creature, not you, not your new form.

Thanks for the input. Next time I'll be more specific. I agree that it should've been stated that I took those feats.

As far as being lvl 30 goes, I think a maximized breath from a pyrohydra dealing about 750 dmg is pretty good no matter what level you are, but thats just me.

At 30th , elemental damage can EASILY be countered.

I dont know your character or your campaign, but i think what kuonji is talking about, is having a back up plan just incase something is immune to fire (which should be quite often)

Any (Epic) character worth his/her weight in Gold would be immume to elemental damage ASAP.

Most def. Elemental damage isn't the meat and potatoes of the build, just something I wanted to get sure on before the campaign.

LordBOB I think this build might actually be entering the Epic Duals as well, so maybe we'll get to play?

Not all dragons are elemental damage though. I like Shadow Dragons myself.
