If a character employs two broadblade short swords (CV pg. 117) and uses the Combat Expertise option, does each sword quality for the bonus?

Example: A character uses two BBSS. He shifts 2 points from the attack bonus to gain 2 points on AC. This allows the BBSS to add +2 (stackable dodge) to the AC. Since the PC is using 2 BBSS does he gain a +4 bonus?

Yes, because Dodge Bonuses -always- stack.

BSS was errata'd to be only a +1 dodge bonus rather than +2, fyi.

Actually, I don't think it is obvious that they stack, since there is also an overall rule that bonuses from the same source don't stack. So it depends on whether you think the two swords are the same source or different sources. I'd be inclined to say they are the same source (just like two castings of a spell are the same source, even if the casters are different). But for a normal character I don't think it would be unbalanced to let them stack.

Watch out though... give a thri-kreen, marilith, or hecatoncheries a bunch of these and you might have trouble!

I'm sorry I brought it up. IMO the EWP they require is not worth the measly bonus.
