Hey, do Broches and Amulets(Periapts, necklaces, etc.) take up the same magic slot? They are two different things. One holds a mantle or cape together and the other you wear around your neck. So it would make sense if they don't. If they do, then crap, that's cheap, but hey, those are the rules.

Thanks for your help

yes, the idea is that Periaps, amulets, torch's(chokers), brooches(a scarab works exactly like a brooch) all take up the same slot. the "around your neck" slot. or the "over your heart" slot is what I like to think

its more to the point that one can only benfit from so many items

A robe or suit of armor effects your place in the world. either how you interact with it or how it interacts with you.
A cloak or cape is like a robe I guess, exept how you effect the world and not you.
Handwear is how you manipulate/mold/shape the world
Boots, how you traverse the world
Helmet and hats are enhance or protect your mind.
and periaps, necklaces, brooches, protect your heart/soul/ being.

ect... think of item slots as doors. you only have one door to the realm of protecting your soul(periaps and amulets, and one door to changing the way you go about the world(boots). and you can only keep the door open to one realm. you can close the door, and open it to another realm, but you have to close it to the first realm first

Pretty much correct.

BTW - it's torc (they're closer to a necklace than a choker [http://www.metalsmiths.com/torc.jpg])
