Broken masterwork items - still masterwork? [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-03-06, 09:28 PM Okay... The party finds a sword that is broken. When it was whole, it was a masterwork sword. Can a ruined / broken masterwork item still be considered masterwork? Can it be repaired and hold its full value as a masterwork item again? If so, what game mechanics would you use for this?

12-03-06, 10:16 PM I'd say that it would remain masterwork, and it would need the full half of the final cost to repair it (that is to say, you'd need to pay for fixing the sword and pay to fix the masterwork component, just as with fixing any other sword).
