Can anyone help me price such an item? Of course it is a nice little powerful item, but mostly I need it for RP reasons.

Protection from evil as per the spell, constant effect.

Thanks

Protection from evil

Caster level 1 X Spell Level 1 X 2000gp = 2000gp

2000gp X 2 (minute/level duration) = 4000gp

4000gp Protection From Evil Brooch

if you want the item to not take a body slot it doubled to 8000gp.

Does that cover the 'constant effect'? If so, thats pretty cheap!

Actually, you are only supposed to use the formula guidelines after you attempt to price the items affects by comparing it to other, all ready existing items.

4,000 gold is far too cheap for an item that does everything protection from evil does.

+2 deflection bonus to AC: 8,000 gold (as per the price of a ring of protection).
+2 resistance bonus to saves: 4,000 gold (as per the price of a cloak of resistance).
Blocks mental control: unsure on this one, but considering that a ring of mindshielding costs 8,000 gold, and this does so much more, it would be quite expensive. Maybe 30,000 gold or so?
Prevents bodily contact with summoned creatures: also unsure, and also extremely expensive. Immunity to summoned creatures? Plus, the effect does not end when you attack (as the protection from evil spell does)? I would think somewhere around 50,000 gold, at least. Being conservative.

So that adds up to roughly 92,000 gold or so. A lenient DM would allow a price reduction since it only affects evil creatures, but that's almost like saying, "It only works against things that want to hurt me." I'm not sure what the price reduction would be, though. Maybe 20%?

The final decision on the price is up to your DM, though.

Well I don't agree wholly with that either.

The +2 bonus to saves and AC only applies to evil creatures as well.

The most expensive bonus would be the Protection against spells such as Magic Jar etc, as the effect never ends.

But I think 92,000 is too high.

Besides...

Spell level (1) x Caster level (3) x 2 = 6000
Continuous is (6000 x 2) = 12,000

Right, as I already stated, the rules support a price decrease of maybe 20% because it only applies against evil creatures. Not all DMs would allow the price reduction, however, since almost everything you fight is evil.

With the price reduction, I'd say around 70,000 gold would be right.
