I'm basically just wondering if there are any nets not in the PHB that have a higher burst DC or if there is a way to increase the DC of the normail net.

Not in the RAW. You could probably get one made out of silk (instead of hempen) rope. The Arms and Equipment Guide has several magic nets, too.

use a magic net?

other than that, theoretically you could make a net out of adamantite cable or something. i would imagine that would be a little harder to break.

also, potentially you could enchant the net somehow to make it stronger... i can think of at least two 3.5 spells/powers that can increase an objects hardness... i don't know about break DC though...

I like the Silk idea.

From:

An entangled creature can escape with a DC 20 Escape Artist check (a full-round action). The net has 5 hit points and can be burst with a DC 25 Strength check (also a full-round action).

and:

Rope, Hempen
This rope has 2 hit points and can be burst with a DC 23 Strength check.

Rope, Silk
This rope has 4 hit points and can be burst with a DC 24 Strength check. It is so supple that it provides a +2 circumstance bonus on Use Rope checks.

I would House rule that a silk net would use the following rules:

An entangled creature can escape with a DC 22 Escape Artist check (a full-round action). The net has 10 hit points and can be burst with a DC 26 Strength check (also a full-round action).

Using the +2 circumstance bonus for the Escape, doubling the hitpoints, and increasing the strength check by +1, as indicated by the silk to hemp comparsion.
