| bonelock10-30-04, 09:27 AM | I have a PC with the burrow special ability. Can I leave a threatened space using burrow without provoking attacks of opportunity? If I finish my movement in a threatened square do I provoke AoO? Also, I cannot find rules for this method of movement in any of the core books. Can someone point me in the direction where I may find it? TIA, Bonelock |

If you move out of a threatened space while burrowing, it will draw an AoO (unless if was the first square of a withdraw action, or spring attack, etc.). I'm not sure if I'd allow a burrowing 5-ft step, but I wouldn't argue against someone who did. Also, under that assumption, burrowing into a threatened square would not provoke an AoO. |
| tarkin10-30-04, 01:37 PM | Movement is movement. Leaving a sqaure by any means short of teleportation causes an AoO if you move more than 5ft that round and are not using Withdrawal. Entering a square does not provoke an AoO, under any circumstances. So yes, you provoke upon leaving but don't upon entering when you burrow. |

| Crazy Runner Guy10-31-04, 06:33 PM | do you threaten cubes that are underground? Ahh, 3-dimensional combat. I don't see how you could, as you would have no visual (unless you can see through dirt) way of knowing where someone is. And even if you threatened an area, could you really burrow fast enough to attack someone on a reactionary basis (which is what an AoO is, an attack based on your instant reaction to another action)? I say no. |
