Any suggestions for "rent" or buy costs?

I have a cleric that wanted to establish as small "temple" to his god - he would use it during "cermony" times, etc.

Suggestions on cost of rent for a 'decent' place? how much for him to buy a small building (or house and convert) outright?

Is there a pre-existing table somewhere ? Suggestions??

Thanks.

Yes, there is a table in the DMG. Let me go see if I can find it.

EDIT: Found it. Page 101 of the 3.5 DMG.

TABLE 3-27: BUILDINGS
Simple House 1,000 gold
Grand House 5,000 gold
Mansion 100,000 gold
Tower 50,000 gold
Keep 150,000 gold
Castle 500,000 gold
Huge Castle 1,000,000 gold
Moat with Bridge 50,000 gold

So I'd say the cost depends upon the opulence and size of the temple. The typical peasant house couldn't have been very big, and probably made of low-quality materials. The government might require that buildings be made of stone, however, to stop fires. I suppose 1,000 gold would be fair for a small, one-room stone temple.

Sharn: City of Towers covers a lot of this sort of thing, including rent and sale prices for a fair selection of abodes.

Even if you're not into Eberron, a lot of the stuff in CoT can pretty easily be translated over to any big city.

The Stronghold Builders Guidebook by Wizards of the Coast is pretty useful too if you want to get into specifics like strange building materials, magical augmentations to certain rooms, etc...
