| DDGamezer01-16-08, 04:42 PM | Hi there. I wanna know if Dwarves can use a Dwarven Urgrosh as a One-handed weapon without incouring to penalties, like what happens in Dwarven Waraxes? Thanks. |
| Ivellius01-16-08, 04:53 PM | Yes, of course--you just can't use more than one end of it in a round. You have to pick whether you're wielding it with the axe-head or the spear-head. |

Only if he is using a smaller version. The dwarven waraxe is a one-handed exotic weapon, with the special property that if wielded two-handed it can be treated as a martial weapon, it still remains a one-handed exotic weapon though. An urgrosh is a two-handed weapon, always (when sized correctly). You might as well ask, "Can I use a quarterstaff one-handed as a club?" |
| StevenO01-16-08, 05:23 PM | The Dwarven Waraxe can be used by anyone with Martial Weapons as a two handed weapon and by those spending a feat for the exotic weapon Prof. and a STR of 13 can use it one-handed without penalty. Here a Dwarf with Martial weapons effectively gets Exotic Weapon (WarAxe) for free. The Dwarven Urgrosh (in the proper size) can't be used one handed and requires an exotic weapon feat to use without penalty. Once again a Dwarf with All Martial Weapons proficiencies gains a "free" exotic proficiency enabling them to wield it without penalty. |

| TifRhal01-16-08, 06:02 PM | you can never weild a double weapon in one hand it is stated in the monkey grip feat that alows you to use a 2hd weapon in one hand ., but you could use the long axe in one hand 1d12 damage x3 crit ore a great sword 2d6 19-20 x2 crit . If yo still use the old 3.0 splat books you could get a merurial greatsword 2d8 x4 crit |

Eh, the others are right; I just figured I'd correct myself. Apparently I'd never looked closely at the section on Double Weapons, relying more on the weapon descriptions themselves. Why do they have to repeat "If a creature is wielding x in one hand..." so many times like it would be a common occurrence? Actually, they repeat all the rules for double weapons in each entry... But on an unrelated note, I'd probably let a PC use a quarterstaff as a club with no range increment. The description does say "You can strike with either end singly..." Yeah, I know it's useless flavor text. |
| pres_man01-17-08, 02:17 PM | The really interesting question is, when using an urgrosh one-size smaller (treat as one-handed weapon) if you wield it with two hands, can you still use it as a double weapon? |
