| Matthew_03-16-07, 06:35 PM | Yes, a Light or Heavy Shield can be used as a Character's Primary Weapon; they can even be used Two Handed. |
| boatmanj03-16-07, 06:36 PM | Do they have it listed in one of the books or the FAQ? I couldn't find the rule for it. Also does it maintain the shield bonus to AC? |
| Matthew_03-16-07, 07:05 PM | Yes, the FAQ does talk about it. Alternatively, you can read about it in this series of Articles: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/rg/20060829a http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/rg/20060905a http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/rg/20060912a You will notice that both Light and Heavy Shields appear on both the Armour and Weapon Tables in the PHB. A Light Shield is a Light Weapon and a Heavy Shield is a One Handed Weapon. In all cases, you need the Improved Shield Bash Feat to retain Shield AC from Shields employed to attack. |
