Can siege weapons... ? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-09-06, 08:30 PM Can siege weapons get the self-propelled vehicle enhancement from the Arms & Equipment Guide ?

According to Heroes of Battle, siege weapons are drawn to the battlefield by standard dray creatures. This lets beleive that siege weapons, being all wheeled, could have a standard vehicle stat block (AC, cargo, spd, etc...). But would they be eligile to this enhancement ?

03-09-06, 09:58 PM I should think that they could be self propeled, but keep in mind this would allow them to move atonomously, but not to attack.

So a self-propelled Heavy Catapult could move into poistion on it's own, but would need a crew to load and fire it (possbly one that rides into battle on it).

I don't mind if they cannot reload and fire by themselves, but some siege weapons could easily carry the operating crew, along with dragging a ammunition-filled wagon. That,s what I'm looking for.

A team of warforged operating a "tank-like" weapon. Oh yeah !

The weapon it self can be animated by means of animate object.

The weapon it self can be animated by means of animate object.Although it's a good idea, it is written that all siege weapons are already wheeled. So no need for wagon, unless the self-propelled enhancement cannot definitely be applied on siege weapons.

03-10-06, 04:44 PM Actually that does sound right. So, you could basiclly create an autonomous seige weapon. It would just need some to set up the target. You can add sefl-loading too it's in the back of Heroes of battle.

I see your warforge manned self-propelled "Tank-like seige weapon" And add Self-loading and Bane fortifications. :D
