| Patrick Draken-Korin03-13-05, 01:27 PM | link's gear, eh? cool. hmm. some ideas about the gust jar. i'm not really sure how well it would work. i'd just make an item that creates a vacuum effect, sucking air out of into itself. give it an effective strength that increses every round it is open (starts at str 2, increases by 2 every round, picks up and pulls objects it can lift over it's head, figurativly speaking of course). i'd set the maximum strength as 40 to 30. then an object sucked into the jar could shoot it out as a improvised ranged attack with a range increment of 20ft. then i'd set the cost around 20,000 to 50,000 Gp. basicly my idea completely changes what you've posted. hmm. *shrugs* for the pegasus boots, i'd just increase the wearer's base speed by +20ft, and allow a constant "air walk" effect (like the spell). other than that, i'm not sure. i'd set the cost at about 100,000 Gp (maybe more, enless flight is an awesome ability). i wouldn't EVER use a item that grants a 40ft walk on air that didn't also grant featherfall (it would be a waste of 2 item spaces because you need that ring as well. poor link, he never got a ring of featherfalling.) the cane of pacci should be a rod, it would grant a bonus to certian strength checks and could be used as a light mace in combat (and basicly be a magical crowbar, sorry). maybe it could make trip attacks that can't be returned (without dropping the cane). i'd set the cost around 20,000 to 80,000 Gp (depending on how much of a bonus it granted to strength checks and what specific functions it would have) the mole mitts would ggrant the wearer a burrow speed of 20ft, but would they allow the wearer to tunnle through solid rock or just dirt (differnt creatures burrow through diffiernet materials, and this isn't an earthglide ability here). i'd set the cost at 12,000 Gp to burrow through dirt only, and at 40,000+ Gp to burrow through any kind of rock. grip ring. umm, couldn't you simply make a ring of greater climbing? that would have a cost of 22,500 Gp. |
