| Fiery_Fighter_Drake09-24-04, 03:57 AM | This has probably been asked before but what the hey! I really need an answer to this question as soon as possible as it'll effect the cost of my weapon when I try to turn it magical. |
| Mr.Waesel09-24-04, 04:14 AM | Yeah, because you need to have a masterwork weapon before you can enhance it. |
| MaxBrains09-24-04, 04:30 AM | :bored: Yes, any weapon or armor type can be masterwork. Including crossbows. |
| The Legendary Two Sandals09-24-04, 12:29 PM | i dont know who made you think you couldnt. really its one of the best cases for masterworking. shooting something is much more difficult with a crappy crossbow than hitting it with a crappy club |
| Edymnion09-24-04, 03:07 PM | Yes, and like was said, you CAN'T make a magical item unless the base item is masterwork. |
| Kaladin09-25-04, 03:03 AM | Unless the poster was meaning he wants to turn his non-masterwork crossbow into a masterwork one... which I don’t think you can. Unless it is extremely important to keep that specific crossbow sell it and buy a MW one o enchant. |
| DrakaraGM09-26-04, 01:37 AM | Yep, you can get a masterwork crossbow -- but you cannot add the masterwork component to a weapon that has already been created. Even though the pricing is treated separately, it simply represents the extra time, care, skill and perhaps materials that went into the weapon when it was crafted. However, you cannot get a "mighty" crossbow. Only composite bows (short and long) can be made that take advantage of a character's extra STR bonus to damage -- crossbows have the mechanical advantage built into the weapon itself rather than relying on the strength of the wielder. |
