Can you only initiate maneuvers with a discipline's associated weapons? [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-16-07, 02:13 AM Hey guys, just wondering if anybody's seen a FAQ or other clarification on whether or not you're required to use a martial discipline's associated weapons to initiate maneuvers from that school. Case in point, is it legal to initiate bonecrusher from the Stone Dragon discipline with a weapon like dagger?

01-16-07, 02:16 AM You can initiate any manuever with any weapon. Nowhere does it say that you must use a discipline's favored weapons.

However, there are feats and class abilities that give you bonuses if you do choose to use a discipline's favored weapon. These are completely optional.
