| Egres04-10-05, 10:55 AM | Well... can you? From the 3.0 FAQ: Is it possible to ready an action as follows: If the wizard casts a spell, I attack him; if he leaves, I follow. Or is that condition not specific enough? It’s actually over specific, because you’re really specifying two different conditions and two different actions here. The ready action allows you to specify one partial action and the condition under which you will perform the action. You could simply ready an attack on the wizard whenever he casts a spell, and this would allow you to do any number of things, including attack, take a 5-foot step and attack, or even make a partial charge and attack. In such a case, you would not get an attack of opportunity on the wizard when he cast the spell, but you would force a Concentration check if you damage the wizard. |

Then on page 155, under the rules for charge, "If you are able to take only a standard action or a move action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed). You can't use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action or move action on your turn (such as during a suprise round)." |
| the shaderaven04-10-05, 03:01 PM | Thats precisely what I am asking. Do the fact that I am limiting myself to only a standart action by readying it at the begining of my turn before taking a move action (I can move and then ready, but can't ready and then move) allows me to ready a partial charge. |
| Leobardis04-10-05, 06:03 PM | Yes, when you ready an action, you are esentially giving up the rest of your round for a specified action the next round, or whenever the condition is met. This imposes a forced limit on what you can do, even though you have to state your action ahead of time. |
