| ArconnTheAncient11-26-05, 02:06 PM | There seems to be some debate in my group as to whether you can "stack" parts of the body, for example wearing rings and a gauntlet/glove. Wearing a magic breast plate with a magic robe or magic blind fold behind a magic mask. Thoughts? |
| Fi'Irdray11-26-05, 02:12 PM | Ring/gauntlet is debateable, I'm pretty sure the RAW say no to a robe/breastplate combination (robes take up the same slot as armor), and it's probably the same for the magic headband unerneath a helmet idea. |

No to the robe and armor; no to the helm and blindfold. |
| Tyler Do'Urden11-26-05, 03:29 PM | Sauron wore the One Ring over a gauntlet. 'Nuff said. |
| Zathyr11-26-05, 04:08 PM | Sauron was a big silly. :P Most people would wear their rings under their gloves, not over them. Anyways, there's a distiction to be made about simply wearing items and receiving the benefit of magical items. Conceivably, you could wear more than two rings on your fingers. I don't think magical rings pop off if you try and put more on. It's just that only two will function. The same would go for similar things like armor + robes - I think you could wear loose enough robes over armor, but you will only receive the benefit from one or the other (while suffering any penalties of the armor until its removed). I'm not sure if the rules actually say this, but it seems sort of common sense to me, and it's how all my GM's have ruled. |
| Fi'Irdray11-26-05, 04:14 PM | I don't have any of my books with me right now, so I'm not sure, but I think multiple rings but only benefitting from 2 at a time is legal; robes over armor isn't. |
| ArconnTheAncient11-26-05, 04:47 PM | I don't having any of the books, but, if I recall right you receive the benefit from the first two rings placed on. You can wear more but they are not functional. |
| primemover00311-26-05, 05:01 PM | You CAN physically wear armor and a robe, but one isn't going to function. However body slots are not limitations on what you can physically put on... they are an arbitrary balance on how many magic items a creature can use. So yes you can wear a magic ring and magical gauntlets. You can wear a ring and non magical gauntlets for that matter. Non magical gloves and gauntlets, non magical gauntlets and magic gloves... |

And for those who do not have their books with them, the same information from pg. 214 of the DMG can be found at http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/magicItems.html . |
| JadeSpider964311-27-05, 10:53 PM | You can, of course, WEAR as much as you can wear. you can wear as many cloaks and robes as you like provided some of them are made to fit a larger person and will fit over your mummified freakish form. You can wear as many rings as you have square inches of body space suitable for piercing plus 4 to 5 times the number of appropaitely sized extrusions (like fingers or the nose.... :D ) You can only BENEFIT from 2 rings, 1 neck....etc... |
