Cant find this weapon [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-15-05, 03:47 PM I remember seeing it somewhere.. Its a weapon that will actually change what kind of weapon it is. Not sure the limits or anything else for that matter, but i'm playing a Chameleon and thought that this weapon would be the way to go.

08-15-05, 04:09 PM Morphing from underdark changes the specific weapon but not the "handedness" of it (light, 1h, 2h). Metalline from underdark lets you change the metal it's made of. Sizing from underdark lets the weapon change size categories (from small to large, etc.). Sure striking from the Player's Guide to Faerun lets the weapon bypass alignment-based DR (treated as good, evil, lawful, chaotic as necessary). Skillful from Complete Arcane gives a minimum 3/4 BAB for the weapon and you're automatically proficient in it.

Put these all together and you have a +8 equivalent weapon, but it can be every light/1h/2h(choose one category) weapon in the game, and can bypass every kind of DR except /-. You can even make it a ranged weapon. And you're proficient in it no matter the shape. It's a bit of gold, but it's something to shoot for.

08-15-05, 05:04 PM I could have sworn i've seen this item. If I remember correctly it can change into diffrent weapons, but the pommels always seem to have something in common as far as looks. Assuming that I cant find this weapon is there anyway to make a weapon cast Polymorph Any Object on itself?

Edit: On a related note, check out page 129 of Complete Adventurer. The Bowstaff is something of what I want, except not a bow... or a staff...
