| Nezkrul05-11-07, 10:18 AM | Can I verbally order my carpet of flying to take a 5' step? |
| tarkin05-11-07, 11:00 AM | Yes. Activation is a Standard Action, but control is just words (free action) |
| Nezkrul05-11-07, 04:12 PM | Hmm, does making my carpet take a 5' step count as MY 5' step? |
| Tectorman05-11-07, 09:14 PM | Hmm, does making my carpet take a 5' step count as MY 5' step? No, certainly not. After your carpet takes its 5' step, you can still take yours. At which point, you are a.) no longer standing on your carpet (assuming it's the small size version) and b.)falling hundreds of feet towards the ground. Oh, and yes, I was being sarcastic. Seriously, I'd say yes, it does. |

| Solo_Phoenix05-12-07, 07:45 PM | Hello Melee built scout with a 5x10 carpet of flying :D Unfortunately I don't think that works. If it doesn't work on a horse it probably won't on a carpet. |
| Tectorman05-13-07, 12:10 AM | And I did say "assuming it's the small size version", didn't I? |
| Nezkrul05-16-07, 07:33 PM | Unfortunately I don't think that works. If it doesn't work on a horse it probably won't on a carpet. Why do you think a carpet is the same as a horse? Using a carpet doesn't require ride checks, and is a free action once it is activated. |
| PiccaloJr05-17-07, 12:30 AM | 5'by10' is fine but won't help on the Skirmish. Remember "10 foot step". You'd only be able to take a 5' step. I see where you are trying to go with it. Carpet moves 5'. I move 5'. 10 total right? No. -You- have to more 5 feet. Now....if you had a 5'by 15' carpet = PROFIT!! |
| farrenj05-17-07, 02:15 AM | If a person uses a flying carpet to fly can they still use a full round action? And can they take a double move with the carpet? |
| spikevampire05-17-07, 06:09 AM | i think a carpet of flying works like an horse ride check for control it excluded. if it is really you would make a full attack only for a 5 feet step, because for 10 and so on you haven't reach the enemy until the end of your turn, which make you enable to make a single attack. i hope it will be useful. (not clear, but useful) |
| Nezkrul05-17-07, 11:51 AM | Carpet moves 5'. I move 5'. 10 total right? No. Uh, yes, as long as I am at least 10' from where I started the turn, I apply skirmish to all of my attacks made before the start of my next turn; which is what the ComAdv Errata states. -You- have to more 5 feet. No, I have be at least 10' from where I started my turn to get skirmish. You can already accomplish this with a flying carpet by making it move at least 10' from where you were, and get in a full attack. What I am asking is is it possible to make a 5' with the 5x10 carpet, and then make YOUR 5' step on the carpet; placing me 10' from where I started the turn; without provoking attacks of opportunity. Tarkin said it's ok to verbally order my carpet to take a 5' step. Does this movement include me, or do I still provoke an attack of opportunity? Does the carpet's 5' step count as my 5' step or would I be able to make my own 5' step on the carpet (or off... weeeeee!) ? |

This counts for riding in a cart, flying on a carpet, etc. The real quesiton is if you are falling can you still full attack and skirmish. hehe. Plus, the carpet can't make decisions of it's own so can't take 5' step of it's own violition. It's movement is your movement. |
