I've been tearing my hair out trying to find the capacity for common containers- sacks, backpacks, buckets etc. If I remember correctly these were present in the 3.0 PH, but I can't seem to find them in the 3.5 edition. Anyone got a page reference, or even a hint of what they are? (Put down your law books, I'm not asking for a copy-and-paste. Just a general description will do, or a sourced quote.)

psionichamster 01-17-05, 03:39 PM	as far as i know, volume and capacity was a 3.0 thing, that did not get transferred to 3.5 i may be wrong, but i can't remember seeing capacity anywhere in the 3.5 books. sorry the hamste (if you really want to, check out some camping/survival stores and websites...they'll list the capacity in liters or cubic inches of most of the serious packs.) h

leftyscissors 01-17-05, 05:01 PM	I was looking for similar information just last night. My 2e PHB lists stowage capacity for items, but I think that some of the numbers are just plain wrong. A backpack can hold up to 50lbs and volume of 3'x2'x1' or about 12 cu. ft. Some of the larger packs I saw on a camping website were good for around 2 cu. ft. Now thats a large difference. The d&d backpack just seems way to huge. Other items of note are belt pouch, large 8 lbs 6"x8"x2" belt pouch, small 5 lbs 4"x6"x2" sack, large 30 lbs 2'x2'x1' saddle bags, large 30 lbs 18"x1'x6"
