Yesterday in our adventure we were faced with a slew of kobolds. These kobolds had kidnapped the damsel and were carrying her away. We thinned them all out and eventually one was carrying her until i asked the DM what his strength score was. Her weight ended up being more than his max load so he could only drag her from now on. After some DM magic another round of kobolds appeared to help him carry the girl.

How do you calculate for multiple characters carrying the same thing in terms of distribution, transportation, speed etc?

You can use Aid Another or allow them to combine their strength modifiers (not scores). I'm not sure what may be RAW more correct though.

If they even so much as some rope, the weight should be evenly distributed between at least two kobolds.

If they had a 10ft pole to tie her to along with the rope, I would let the weight be distributed among 6 medium sized creatures or 8 smalls.
