Absolutely technically speaking, no they don't, as per their personal descriptions. BUT there is a centaur-like creature (i believe one of the Inevitables) mentions that, due to their centaur-like bodies, they automatically qualify for Ride By Attack and the like.

That said, i dont have the said book, so i could be completely wrong.

Hal: I'd allow it. No game-breaker, to allow a centaur a "mounted" lance charge. As you obviously allow monsters as PCs in the first place.

Wharin: Interesting sketchbook. Better than I could do. Thanks for sharing.

From Hal's sig lines:
Wizard's Sixth Rule
"...the only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason."

Were this truth, there'd be very little conversation on these boards...

By the RAW they don't qualify, again it's not a game-breaker, but just because they have 1/2 their bodies as horses/4-legged creatures doesn't give them the benefits of being mounted. If that were the case, any creature with two forelimbs and 4 legs would get this bonus.

*chuckles* Sorry about the mispelling in the main post I was rather Tired Last night . So rules as written no tauric creatures are not mounted? The Reason I ask is mounted combat can be very powerful alot of multipliers on charges when wielding a lance with the right Prcs it can get disgusting.

Yep. Now that I think about it, I agree.

Mayhaps a "medium ground"; a feat to allow a quad the lance bonus on a charge.

Moot point.

It would go against common sense for them to not count for mounted feats.. its not like they can ever learn to ride a horse or whatever! ;)

You have to keep in mind that they suffer many penalties for being Tauric. They cant climb, have difficulties hiding, etc.

It goes against common sense to LET them count as mounted.

The reason most of the mounted feats apply is because you are GAINING the benefits of the mounts muscles.

And are you going to let him use Mounted Combat? That lets him make a "ride check" to negate damage to his mount, with his mount being himself????????

And one of the balancing factors for spirited charge is that the DM can rule you can't stack it with all the other charge feats cause in spirited charge you are riding a charging creature so can't actually do say a "Lion's Pounce".

I can see House Ruling to allow several similar feats, but just letting them do it is outright abusive.

What's all this talk about common sense?

"Common sense" is what told uneducated people that the world was flat ages ago. :P

In any case, I would NOT allow tauric creatures to qualify for these feats in my games. Why? Because there are already feats that clsoely resemble them already.

Take fore example...
Mounted Archery = Shot on the Run
Mounted Combat = Dodge
Ride-By Attack = Spring Attack
Spirited Charge = Lion's Charge/Powerful Charge/Greater Powerful Charge/etc.
Trample = Improved Overrun

I hope that helps.
