| jadehawk03-23-07, 05:07 PM | You know the exotic weapon: net? Well my group thought of using a net made of metal chain links instead of rope to increase its hardness and hit points. Modifying the cost and weight of the item is pretty simple but I was wondering if there were any issues with making this weapon. It does significantly increase its capacity, particularly if you make it out of adamantine and magically enchanted. | icnivad03-23-07, 05:13 PM | I think it's a good idea, and would work well once a foe was captured... but.. have you ever tried to throw that much metal in any precise manner? I would think it would take a very high strength check to use. |

I figure it would increase the weight by the same factor as chain to hemp rope. I don't have my books with me. How much does 50' of chain and rope weigh? I think hemp rope is 10 lbs for 50' right? |
| Iver Gearsham03-23-07, 05:37 PM | Go with Mithral or Glassteel light tough and durable. As for magic, Animated objects get realy good grapple checks if they have the right shape like rope, carpet, Nets :D. |
