Chic and glamorous, the chainmail bikini is a favorite of fashionable female adventurers who wish to not only look great while kicking butt, but who also want to make a fashion statement and flaunt their sex appeal. It has also proven popular with humanoids of the opposite gender, whose attentions have taken on a voyeuristic inclination.

The chainmail bikini is said to be the brain- and lovechild of an elven metalsmith who defied tradition to become an armorer, sometime model and fashion designer. From humble beginnings, the chainmail bikini has since become an iconic staple and image of fantasy, but this was not always so. The first prototype did not prove to be as popular as anticipated and the profit loss stemming from inattention almost bankrupted that mysterious elven genius.

With perseverance and advertisement through word of mouth, and trial testing by interested parties did the concept finally take flight. Virtually overnight, the multiple limitless worlds of D&D became hopelessly enamored.

Wearers of these exceptional artifacts have a 1d100 (1 in 20 to 1 in 10) chance of influencing others as though a dominate monster spell cast by a 20th level sorcerer. Wearers of ravishing attractiveness (Cha 18+) have a 1d00 (1 in 6) chance of influencing victims.

Not surprisingly, forgeries of the epic chainmail bikinis are also a hot commodity. Potential buyers should always inspect the stamp of authenticity: "Epic Inside."

As long as I have my Beer Goggles of Drunken Beauty Appreciation then all is okay.

Good choice on the Cha 20 sor, but Mialee isn't that much of a paragon of beauty.

It's meant to be an all purpose apparel designed with most classes and prestige classes in mind. So, yes, it may prove to be as popular with wizards and "bookish types" as fighters and/or rogues. I can and do see a Rouge wearing this. It'd probably be purchased as much for the sex appeal as the protection afforded by the alloy and craftsmanship.

Well, it's a fantasy game so it needn't conform to real world physics. I was more going for the 'an invisible sheath of protective enchantment' covers the wearer's body and offers protection that way.

It'd also give an explanation why so many do wear chainmail bikinis in-game, either on the cover of Dragon magazine, etc, and emerge relatively unscathed from battle.

12-12-07, 05:38 PM That's what made Bracers of Armor so good; you could wear little more than dental floss and still be protected. Oddly enough, two of my most beautiful PCs are fully clothed. Hell, I can't even picture my Paladin not wearing a full suit of armor. Ź_Ź

I've got one young Barbarian lass wearing a loincloth and matching top; maybe she can run into a Cleric with Magic Vestment?

Speaking of Barbarians, wouldn't Conan essentially be the originator of this?

if not, well (no offense, seriously), might i suggest a g/f or some "alone time". do what you gotta' do, but at least you brought a smirk to an otherwise dour day so thanks.
-can't agree w/ you on equivalent AC to a shirt. i mean, it's cosmetic really, not truly practical, but i thought that was what you're gunning for. your guts are exposed for one.

realistically, your achetypal martial female would probably look more like the Illuskan human girl (red hair, 2handing axe) in Player's Guide to Faerun in the chain shirt. there's an error in editing, they list her as Rashemi when she is clearly not.
