chucky 01-10-07, 09:28 AM	Anybody know how mani chain links are in a normal suite of chain mail? I need to know how many fabricate spells i need to cast to make one. Because you know you only get 1 item per casting.

jaelis 01-10-07, 09:53 AM	A modern hauberk made from 1.5 mm diameter wire with 10 mm inner diameter rings weighs roughly 10 kg and contains 15,000–45,000 rings. Go to town.
VonRichthofen 01-10-07, 04:34 PM	Depends on the pattern... ;) The classic alternating 4 in 1 pattern might start off with around 12.000 or so rings, with 15.000-20.000 more likely. (My own has 21.000, square section, rivetted - I took the number for granted, though - never counted them out :D ) If you adopt a very dense pattern and/or small rings: Unless I am very much mistaken, there are historical examples with more than 50.000 rings.

Zojore 01-10-07, 04:53 PM	I think on the rules for chainmail/ fabricate, the whole suit of armor counts as one item not 15,000 -45,000, it'd just be easier to buy the armor in a town.
