Shadowfax7 09-19-06, 09:12 PM	As per RAW if you take a standard action to make an attack, you can still decide within teh same round to change to a full round action attack if you don't take a move action. In the same jist, can you take a 5' step and then change the 5' step to a move action in the same round as long as you didn't avoid an AoO from the 5' step or take a full round action in that round ??

I can only assume the reason you ask is the threat of invisible creatures. If this worked, you could 5ft, then decide whether or not to keep moving. However, there's no way you could know whether or not your 5ft avoided an AoO or not in such a situation, and in every other situation, you can easily see when and where your movement will provoke. The reason you can convert a full attack back into a standard action after the first swing is because you don't always know what your attacks will do. There's no sense using every attack if the first one incapacitates the target. However, there's no analog for moving. The best you can do is a Withdraw. The first 5t won't provoke, and you get a the rest of your movement as well, by taking a full-round action. The rest of your movement may provoke as normal, but it's the closest for what you're asking.
