If u make a charge against an opponent with reach more than 5feet.. Does the opponent get an AoO for moving within his threatening area? (first 5feet (move in, thus no AoO) , then next 5feet (move within, thus AoO) ) ...

Thx in advance ...

P.s. Plz provide core rules source

Techinically, it's moving "out" of the threatened square that causes the AoO, not a "within" movement. Charge provides no special protection against an AoO, although there are probably feats that do.

SRD (http://forums.gleemax.com/leaving.php?destination=http://www.d20srd.org) Under Combat , then AoO

Lets say your guy is charging something with 20ft reach. He provokes an attack from moving out of the first threatened square. He does not provoke from any other AOO's for moving through the rest of the threatened squares. Reread the section of the PHB about attacks of opportunity.

I totally agree with you... But reread Mobility feat description... Im sure it mentions something about "moving within" a threatened area..
Which means when you are already inside a threatened area and move around IN it..

What that should mean... Im clueless about this one... And confused also, cause my DM rules it (reading at the Mobility description) like : "AoOs when moving out AND within a threatened area.."

If u make a charge against an opponent with reach more than 5feet.. Does the opponent get an AoOYup. Even though charge lists "No" in the AoO column of the Full-Round Actions table (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/actionsInCombat.htm#fullAttack), that column has the following notation:
"Regardless of the action, if you move out of a threatened square, you usually provoke an attack of opportunity. This column indicates whether the action itself, not moving, provokes an attack of opportunity."

Moving from one threatened square to another threatened square is still moving out of a threatened "square", even though you are moving around within a threatened "area".

Actually moving through a threatened area WILL provoke an AoO for each square left, it is just that a character is restricted to making one movement based AoO.

If I threaten all the way out to 20' and you charge I don't need to take the AoO when you move out of the first square but can take it when you trigger by moving out of the second square (the 15' one). Why not smack you at first chance? Perhaps I want you inside my reach limits so I can hit you again no matter which way you go after I trip you.

yep steveO is right. You can only cause one AoO per action. So if someone has Combat reflexes they still only get one AoO for you moving through their threatened area. But now if you try to trip them without Improved trip you will be provoking a different AoO

That is why a spiked chain user with improved trip and combat reflexes is so much fun. First AoO used to trip get the attack for damage; target trys to stand takes a second AoO. Repeat as needed against each target until out of AoOs.

I like disarming them first. Its so much fun to do. Though it always doesnt work.

But disarming doesn't lead to nearly as many other AoO as tripping does. When disarmed (especially with a charge) it may be possible for a creature to draw another weapon (remember that DRAWING does NOT provoke) and still attack you. When you trip someone you end their movement with their next action most likely to be trying to get up which does provoke.

Yes, attempting a Trip would provoke an AoO unless one has the Improved Trip feat. An important thing to remember here is that someone needs to threaten me to take that AoO so even if I'm trying to trip you untrained you still can't counter AoO unless you threaten me.

QFT, but they CAN try to trip you back if you fail and dont drop your weapon. That part is built into failing to trip someone and has nothing to do with their reach or their threatened squares.

Why not use the free attack you gain from tripping them TO disarm them?

He even gets a -4 on his roll for being prone
