Let's say the party member charges a creature that has a 15 foot reach. Would that provoke as normal? Or does the act of charge not provoke an AoO? Just curious, thanks! |

The 'charge' does not provoke an AoO - however, leaving a threatened square (normal movement, running, charging, flying, etc. ) provokes an AoO unless the movement used states otherwise (5' step, withdraw, etc.). In your example a creature with reach would be able to take an AoO as the charging character leaves the threatened square. TT |

| draconic_swine04-20-07, 11:37 PM | Yeah, the act of charging doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity, but leaving a threatened square does. That way you don't provoke two attacks of opportunity from your opponents. |

| draconic_swine04-26-07, 06:15 PM | Which is no different than if you charge someone normally. In either circumstance, you only provoke an attack of opportunity from the person you're charging is if he has reach. |
