| JonahBlack09-23-04, 11:39 AM | I searched the archives, but this topic is never quite addressed (that I could find). If a character with a reach weapon, combat reflexes and the Hold the Line feat is charged by a creature with no reach, does he get two AoOs (one for moving from 10' to 5', and one for the charge), or only one (the movement/charge is one action, so one AoO). I'm interested in interperetations based on 1) the Rules As Written, 2) game balance, and/or 3) logic/common sense. Thanks in advance for your response(s). |
| FitzNighteyes09-23-04, 12:48 PM | 2 AoOs. 1 for charing into the threatened area of a character with Hold the Line. 1 for moving from the 10ft to the 5ft threatening area. They are different opportunities. One is caused by the action/feat combination (Charging a character with Hold the Line). The other is caused by movement itself. |
| Beamup09-23-04, 01:00 PM | RAW: 2, as explained by Fitz. Balance: 2. The guy spent a valuable feat to do this, he should get a valuable benefit out of it. Common sense: 2. He's spent a good bit of time training in how to hit people effectively when they charge at him, he ought to be better at it than normal. |
