grizzt 02-19-05, 01:22 PM	Would a flatfooted character with reach weapond with only 10´ reach who readies a charge and has lower insiativ than the charging enemy get to act first and then get a aoo when the enemy closes in and attacks with a 5´ reach weapond. In other word 2 attacks before the other without winning the first insiativ.
Finarin Panjoro 02-19-05, 02:26 PM	A flat-footed character cannot ready to recieve a charge. Readying an action is a standard action. If he took a standard action then he isn't flat-footed anymore. If a flat-footed character with a reach weapon is charged he gets no attacks at all unless he has combat reflexes. A flat-footed character cannot make attacks of opportunity normally, but combat reflexes allows them to do this. If the character has a higher initiative than the person charging then he isn't flat-footed, can make an attack of opportunity, and can use his action to ready to recieve the charge (as a DM I actually rule that you can ready against approach, if the person is charging then that counts as readying to recieve and you get double damage). So if the character with 10' reach wins initiative he can get two attacks (an attack of opportunity, plus a readied attack which may be for double damage). If the character with 10' reach loses initiative and does NOT have the combat reflexes feat then he gets no attacks against the charging person. If the character with 10' reach loses initiative, but has the combat reflexes feat then he gets an attack of opportunity on the charging person. Hope that helps.
