Hey guys,
New question, this is for my cavalier friend, it says in the books that with charging, you can attack and overun and trample as part of a charge.. but we saw some complaints in a dragon magazine.. so what all can you do with a charge?

No because you can't take a full round action and a standard action in the same turn. Even though ride-by attack grants you movement after the charge, you can't use overrun and thus trample as this would count as a standard action, and you've already taken a full-round action.

Thanks, so you can do one of the three, thats kinda what we thought, but you know, never hurts to dream, I mean... hhehehe, attack with lance, knock prone, attack with horse.. it's be pretty sweet.

To add a little more, you can only charge while mounted if your mount is charging, and since overrun is a standard action and not a melee attack, the horse can't overrun the person as part of the charge, but the horse still makes a normal melee hoof attack with the charge bonus.

The Main 3.5e FAQ strongly implies that your mount can't attack during a Ride-by Attack. See the Flyby Attack vs. Ride-by Attack FAQ entry.
