| Mortath_Archmage09-06-04, 07:30 AM | While i was creating a high level cavalier, i found myself in a delicate situation: multipliers while charging. He has a armor with "rhino hide" properties, so he charged damage goes x2 He has a heavy lance and the spirited charge feat, so dmge x3 But he also has the quality "Valourous" in the lance, which gives x2 in charge And finaly, he has the Power Critical feat, so on a critical, damage x3 His STR is 28, so it gives him +9 on damge, and 1d8 for the lance, plus a +5 enhancement to damage Question: so, what would be the damge on a critical with the spirited charge for the basis of 1d8+14? OBS: the scenario is still 3.0. Any changes to 3.5 are to be disconsidered  |

At the start of the combat chapter, under the damage section, the pertinent sentence is "When you multiply damage more than once, each multiplier works off the original, unmultiplied damage (see Multiplying, page 275)". So 1d8 doubled twice is 1d8 + 1d8 (the first double) plus 1d8 (the second double). In the same manner *2 plus *3 works out at *4. |
