When worn, the armor bestows a dignified and commanding aura upon its owner. The wearer gains a +2 competence bonus on all Charisma checks, including turning checks and Charisma-based skill checks. The wearer also gains a +2 competence bonus to his Leadership score. Friendly troops within 360 feet of the user become braver than normal. Since the effect arises in great part from the distinctiveness of the armor, the wearer cannot hide or conceal herself in any way and still have the effect function. Strong enchantment; CL 15th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, mass charm monster; Price 25,400 gp; Cost 10,975 gp + 850 XP. |

| strenoth03-08-05, 12:12 PM | I've already got the (magical)armor I'm going to be using, I'm just trying to add charisma boost onto it. I suppose I can try and reverse engineer the armor Tarkin quoted.. no wonder i coudln;t find it under the table of special abilities. |
| tarkin03-08-05, 02:20 PM | Sometimes that can be a munchkin idea. There is a reason why most "special" enchantments were made that way. In this particular case, I do not see a problem. It seems to be fairly obviously priced as a +3 enchantment, which I would allow to grant the full: The wearer gains a +2 competence bonus on all Charisma checks, including turning checks and Charisma-based skill checks. The wearer also gains a +2 competence bonus to his Leadership score. Friendly troops within 360 feet of the user become braver than normal. Since the effect arises in great part from the distinctiveness of the armor, the wearer cannot hide or conceal herself in any way and still have the effect function. |
| Nightwing_2203-08-05, 03:36 PM | I noticed a suit of Armor with Strength +4 in one of the newer books for a cost of 24,000gp(16k[belt of giant strength +4]*1.5[additional power multiplier]). Your Charisma Suit should cost the same. This multiplier is the same as used with Shadow/Silent Moves(2.5k*1.5), Energy Resistace (12k*1.5) and other special armor abilities. |
| Nom03-08-05, 04:53 PM | Alternatively, use the default price for an ability boost (1000 gp * bonus^2, PH pg 285) and multiply by 1.5 because it is an additional ability above and beyond the standard ability (*1.5, see errata). Torso is appropriate for ability boosts, so you don't take an additional *1.5 (total *2) penalty for that. |
| Nuntius12803-08-05, 09:37 PM | This is interesting you ask this, the only useful thing for my games I saw(my group is pretty immature-ish about this kinda stuff) from the BoEF is the armor enchantment called "Confidence" which gives you +2 Cha, and lets you add your Charisma modifier to Will saves, if I remember correctly. +1 bonus |
