03-14-08, 01:35 AM 1-How many gold pieces a chest can contain ? (book referances?)
2-Is there different size of chest ? i mean small, medium and large chest cant contain the same amont of pieces.
3-The chest in players guide weight 25lb full of pieces or empty ?
4-Whats the dmg of a chest thrown in your opponent face ?

03-14-08, 01:42 AM When I saw the title of this thread, I was TOTALLY thinking it was about something COMPLETELY different. :rofl:

The only one of those I think has an actual answer in #3, which I think is empty. The rest is all up to the DM.

1) I'd say that's your call... chests can vary in size greatly.

2) Exactly. I would think that most chests are small or medium. And obviously that would change your volume of the chest.

3) Empty. The shops wouldn't give away any more than they had to.

4) Taking an idea from the "Stone Blocks from Ceiling" trap, I would suggest 1d6 damage, plus a -4 for nonproficiency (although a character with Weapon Focus (treasure chest), Weapon Specialization (treasure chest), Greater Weapon Focus (treasure chest) and Weapon Supremacy (treasure chest) [probably missed a couple prerequisites, but oh well] would be pretty cool... hmmm... gotta look into that...)

03-14-08, 08:19 AM 1) depend on the size, a small one 2'X1'X1' could contain approximately 1000-2000 pieces, but average medium chest something like 4'X3'X3' it should contain 50,000 pieces.

2)there is different size, what does prevent you to make one 1000'X1000'X1000', the only reason i see that could prevent you to have such big chest would be wood supply limitation.

3) this is empty weight for a wooden metal reinforced chest "Cliché chest"

4) If you use the normal rules it fall in the category of "Improvised weapon" there is already a list of weapon in there, it deal 1d4 for small object, but most of them are 1d6 and you apply a -4 penalty to attack roll. although there is a rule that give damage per weight which is 1d6 per 25lbs so basiclly empty a medium chest being 25lbs is 1d6, but add a bunch of stuff in it and it deal bigger damage.
