So, my Orc Crusader managed to take down a Giant Stag Beetle with the rest of the party, and since we're very poor, I've decided to make Chitin Armor for him - a set of full plate, specifically. Now, page 121 of Races of the Dragon has rules for Chitin Armor. However, it keeps referencing a table that I, for the life of me, cannot find. Can anyone else shed some light on this missing table?

From reading the text, I gather that chitin has the following properties.

* +1 max dex
* x2 price of masterwork armor (but takes no longer to craft)
* Counts as masterwork

Now, does it lower the armor check penalty? The flavor text seems to indicate so, but nothing about the rules states it.

So, any insight?

Cheers,

The table in question is (MM 204-205)? I think it was a typo and they meant Monster Manual 284 - 285 those pages have the big beetles.

I think the flavor text was just about the chitin armor letting you use more of your Dex bonus for AC as it is physically lighter armor with no other benifits.
