We recently restarted characters to get rid of the massive parity that existed, and our DM is offering us one single magic item (maybe 2 of they are a 'set') . This has really got me thinking as to what most people would choose. Also, on an obviously related note. Someone told me about these Gauntlets Healer's Gauntlets, minor Each gauntlet stores fifty charges of a spell, and once exhausted each gauntlet can be recharged seperately. * Left gauntlet: Cure Light Wounds, 50 charges (750gp and 60 XP to recharge) * Right gauntlet: Cure Serious Wounds, 50 charges (5,625gp and 450 XP to recharge) Has anyone ever heard of them? Do they exist or are they a campaign specifc item that some DM has dreamed up. Searching the net has brought up little other than references to WoW items..so I am begining to doubt they do... |

| Ninja_Ferret10-14-07, 02:07 PM | Staff of the magi. Wait uumm. Deck of many things. hhmmm Tome of understanding +5, Headband of perfect exelence. Or the healers gauntlets. cus those seem NICE. Since you can recharge them. The hand and eye of vecna (its a SET) LOLS |

Wizards' more or less official take on magic items of that ilk is that they don't allow recharging(or, more precisely, that the costs for recharging a charged item should NEVER be cheaper than the costs of creating it from scratch so you're just as well off buying new items). If your DM is willing, they'd be pretty useful items(I'm assuming they're spell trigger, like wands) since you'd never have to drop your shield, weapon, etc to draw a wand to heal, and you don't have to burn your spells on it. The retributive healing amulet is a good idea too. Other than that, a Periapt of Wisdom +2 or maybe +4 if you can swing it would be helpful. |
