Circlet of Persuasion Question [Archive] - Wizards Community

Does a Circlet of Persuasion (+3 to Charisma related checks) apply to class features and not just skills? Specifically, I am thinking of Turn/Rebuke Undead and Wild Empathy.

My group is of the general consensus that the bonus does apply, but I would like other answers and reasoning behind those answers.

11-14-05, 10:26 AM If I remember the description correctly the circlet grants "+3 competence bonus to Charisma based checks". I don't remeber the word "skill" being mentioned anywhere. Based on that, and before consulting any other sources, I would allow the bonus to turning checks.

11-14-05, 12:14 PM That is my group's reasoning behind it. Since it says 'checks' and not 'skills' then it blankets more than just skills. As long as a roll is termed as a 'check' and is based on Charisma, then I do not see why not. I merely posted the question to see if there was something we might be missing.
