claw attacks and wielding weapons [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-04-04, 05:45 PM If a creature has claws on its hands, but it wields a weapon in those hands, how is it supposed to make its claw attacks? by the RAW, a thri-keen could hold four weapons and attack with all of them, and then make a secondary claw attack. How does this work?

12-04-04, 06:15 PM There isnt a single monster which does so on it's full attack in the MM. The RAW are not exhaustive, the answer to your question is the one which common sense dictates.

12-04-04, 06:50 PM A thrikreen weilding 4 weapons(one in each hand) has no hands left to make a claw attack, it may instead make a bite attack as the secondary. The rules don't spell it out because it is assumes you realize there are no claws left to use. Hence your questioning how it is possible.
