Clawed Gauntlets? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-28-05, 01:13 PM Have any of the suppliments ever given stats for a clawed gauntlets? obviously they would do slashing damage, but what damage dice would medium ones be considered? and would they add a negative to weilding a weapon while wearing them?

Replace spikes with claws.

Change damage from "piercing" to "slashing".

03-28-05, 02:07 PM There were clawed gauntlets in Sword & Fist, and I think also the Arms and Equipment Guide. They dealt 1d6, 19-20/x2 slashing damage. There were also a few other perks to the weapon as well.

The clawed things in A&E guide were the claw bracers, but we can't post stats, it's not open content I think.

03-28-05, 04:01 PM Plus, Arcana Unearthed has the Battle Claws, which sound like what you're looking for.

They're exotic weapons that can be used with Weapon Finesse, and they come in two varieties: the regular battle claw, which does as much damage as a shortsword, with the same threat range and crit multiplier; and the greater battle claw, which does as much damage as a longsword, with the same threat range and crit multiplier.

Personally, I think they're damn cool.
