| Mysk11-21-06, 12:14 PM | I think I may be going crazy... Is there a claw type weapon in D&D? Like, strap on and grip while fighting claws. ((What inspired this baffling hunt was that I have a Stalker in an MMO - City of Villains - and wanted to create him in D&D as he's a Claw/Ninjitsu, ahem anyways)) Besides of course natural claws I can't seem to find anything at all. Though knowing me I may have overlooked something... |

| RavenDrake11-21-06, 02:52 PM | The bladed gauntlets are in several books. Arms and Equipment Guide feature the Claw Bracer(which leaves the hand free to cast spells), The Panther Claw(a modified Punch dagger with a bonus to disarm), and the Tiger Claw (Which is essentially a special monk weapon) and it's variation the Nekode which grants a bonus to Climb checks. Keep in mind these were presented under the 3.0 rules, so you'll have some (very minor) modifications to make. Each of these was a small weapon in 3.0. Converting to 3.5 means they are considered Light weapons when sized appropriately for thier weilder. If you're a small sized character, sizing the weapon for you will reduce it's damage die type by one size. While the wepon quality "Special monk weapon" did not exist in 3.0, the description of the Tiger Claw is identical to the descriptions applied in 3.0 to the other weapons which became "Special monk weapons"(the quarterstaff, siangham, nunchaku, and kama), and since it's an exotic weapon I see no reason NOT to allow it to qualify as a special monk weapon considering it's otherwise limited appeal(mechanically at least). |
