Now my question is, since the bracer can allow for this sort of manual dexterity and precision, would it not allow the same for say, roguish activity, such as lock-picking (granted, so long as the actual claw blades don't bar your hand and instrument from reaching the lock in question)? Disable Device was another idea that came to me, but the blades would kind of interfere with the whole delicate workings of neutralizing a trap, methinks. ;) This query came to me when I was conceptualizing a rogue, and was thinking of using the claw bracer. What other sort of actions do you think the weapon would allow? I think this is a pretty potentially nifty concept. :) -C'SA :u:Bring Back Merfolk!!!:u: |

Lockpicking should suffer some penalty, while using one of the claws to break a lock (like with a crowbar) should be easier (or at least should it work as an improvised tool). Disable Device is more various: to block a wheel or break it, it should be useful, while disarming a trap with those long blades hanging around could give some nasty problems! |

Things like padlocks I wouldn't penalize, seeing as they're so small the blades wouldn't really interfere.) But what about using your hand for another purpose? Such as firing a bow or crossbow? Seeing as how somatic gestures can make one's hand expand pretty large, so it would probably give some free space to draw a bow's pull. What about that? -C'SA :u:Bring Back Merfolk!!:u: |
