How would I go about figuring a price to make the web ability of this item from 3/day to unlimited times a day?

Actually, the Web ability is only once per day according to the SRD.

The price of the cloak has been subjectively modified (the price of unlimited spider climb at 6th caster level alone would be 36,000gp, almost triple the cost of the cloak, based only on the formulae given in the DMG) because of the limited usefulness of many of the effects.

Increasing the usefulness of the webbing by making it useable at will should not only eliminate the discount for the item, but might even warrent an increase in price.

According to the formula in the DMG, an At will Command Word item of Web at 6th caster level (the CL of the item in question) would be 2nd level spell x 6th caster level x 1,800gp = 21,600gp

Considering web's usefulness as an impromtu wall which can grant some degree of concealment/cover I would say that's a good place to start from.

You are correct, it is meant to be once a day.

So, for 21600+14000=35600, that would be unlimited web added to the cloak?

More or less, yes.

Technically, since the cloak already had a 1/day web effect on it, you would subtract that value from the add-on value... but I'm unsure of exactly how much they actually PRICED that web effect at.

A 1/day web at 6th caster level is 2 x 6 x 1,800gp / (5/1) = 4,320gp. However, with the plethora of effects on the cloak it's hard to disect the exact price that was actually paid for the web effect.... Adding the full price of the unlimited web ability(thus paying a premium for it) would be a good way to help balance the usefulness as well.

Talk to your DM (unless you are the DM)about how to adjust the price, if at all.

Would it be more reasonable to put a high /day instead? Like 10-20/day? I don't want it to be TOO over the top lol, but I do want to use it more than 3 times.

Because of the formula, you can't really put more than 5/day on an item, and that costs as much as making it unlimited, otherwise you'll be paying MORE for the item than you would for unlimited use.

(for example: Using the same web forumla with 10 times per day is:

2 x 6 x 1800gp / (5/10) = 43,200 gp)

Mind you, most DM's wouldn't adhere to the letter of the formula and charge you that necessarily if you WANTED an item with 10 per day. For balance reasons, however, most DM's would charge you the same for unlimited use as for 5 or more times per day because of the nature of encounter balancing.

The game is balanced so that a party of 4 will have 4 encounters with CR no higher than thier level per day, so most items are balanced with the idea of being useable in one encounter (once per day), Most encounters (3/day), or Any encounter (unlimited, or limited by charges such as a wand). Having an item that lets you use it 10 times per day may as well be an unlimted use item. Even if you used it twice in every encounter in an 'average' adventuring day, you've still only used 8 or your 10 charges. For that ammount of utility, you should be paying the same premium as a character with an unlimted use item.
